Jeffrey Ernst
Jeff Ernst is an associate at Donnelly Conroy & Gelhaar, LLP where his practice focuses on white collar defense and general business litigation. On the criminal side, Jeff has successfully defended individuals in a variety of investigations by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. He has developed a particular expertise in defending against allegations of health care fraud and fraud in the promotion of regulated medical devices.
Jeff has also represented clients in a wide array of civil matters, including a multi-million dollar contract action in the defense industry, which was settled on favorable terms; and a recent case based on allegations of intellectual property theft, which the opposing party voluntarily dismissed after its application for preliminary injunction was denied.
Immediately prior to his arrival at Donnelly, Conroy and Gelhaar, Jeff clerked for the Honorable Bruce W. Kauffman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. While serving as Judge Kauffman’s clerk, Jeff played a prominent role in drafting the Judge’s opinions, both civil and criminal. He also participated in the sentencing of criminal defendants and other aspects of the criminal process.
Jeff is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, but only when his kids are not available to build towers with blocks or to play on the swings in the local park. Jeff is also a dedicated hiker. He and his wife took their honeymoon in Peru, where they went on a six day trek through the mountains.
